It’s no newsflash that techno and dubstep have been crushing on each other, but with Al Haca, Stereotyp and Tolcha, the flirtation is consummated. After Al Haca’s great “Family Business” Release on Meta Polyp, partners in crime Tolcha drop 3 new essential tunes with many remixes. Again its a family affair, so no other than Al Haca themselves, Jahcoozi and the great Eva B are on the Remix Tip.

Steady rhyming from Glasgow Mc Soom T (known from collabos with T. Raumschmiere, Bus, Daniel Meteo) demand serious speakers or headphones. Tolcha are stretching from laidback digital dancehall to low-end detail and dub space. Bass Music is crossing a lot more borders now. A lot of people can relate to Dubstep, so even though Tolcha or Al Haca havent changed its recipe, suddenly more people seem to understand that style. Wutt u call it? Avant-garde – postmodern hackers ?!

Especially with the Eva B Remix the sound of Tolcha should become more accessible, touching the outer perimeters of pop and getting approval from radio&club. Don’t cue this one unprepared.

Four friends meet three strangers, lock themselves in one room, try seven different music tools at once, exchange instruments, record everything and finally scan it on one hard disc.

Recorded at four sessions, from monday to thursday, 06.03.06 – 09.03.06, somewhere in Berlin.

Put out by Shir Khans and Tolchas new digi-hop label META POLYP, this album is going to be something like dark electronica, mixed with smokey dub and grimey post hiphop. Features from: RQM (The Tape/Al-Haca), SASHA PERERA (jahcoozi), MAXX (ex-the goats), RIDER SHAFIQUE (pressure drop), RAS T-WEED (ex-rockers hifi), NEONMAN (pale), AL-HACA (klein).

With GESTALT, TOLCHA are introducing their brand new soundscape of rolling bass, pitch-bending effects and streetwise lyrics all recycled through the echo chamber. Tolcha experiment with their tracks in a very unconventional way. They use dub as a musical tool, but more in terms of creating that certain darkness.

Berlin dub magicians TOLCHA release a second vinyl-joint called FOKUS. It is put out by TOLCHAS new label META POLYP. The 4-track-vinyl includes a wicked FOKUS-remix by the science-fiction-dancehall-superstars AL-HACA who are known for their astonishing releases alongside STEREOTYP on the austrian label KLEIN.
The track features RAS-TWEED from the UK who used to be a member of the legendary ROCKERS HIFI-crew (DIFFERENT DRUMMER).

Guest raps include polish New York/Berlin rapper RQM who will release his solo project THE TAPE alongside Robot Koch from JAHCOOZI on KYO very soon. He was also featured on some I-WOLF, AL- HACA and STEREOTYP-joints.

The track CRUSHED ICE features London/Berlin-female singer/rapper SASHA PERERA from the berlin elektro-blip-hop project JAHCOOZI (HAMTON).
